Weekend Waiver Wire

The weekly grind continues! You're either in the race for the playoffs, sitting pretty at the top of the league and making moves planning for the playoffs, or fighting to not be the cellar dweller and planning for next year(this is me in all my leagues).
Today we have some targets for the weekend and moving forward as well.

Philipp Grubauer – Seattle Kraken (43% owned on Fantrax and 22% owned on Yahoo)
Don’t look now, but Grubauer is back with a vengeance! Over the past 30 days since returning, he has played five games and is 4-0-0 with a 1.46 goals against average, a 0.947 save percentage, 124 Saves, and one shutout. He was an afterthought with the emergence of Joey Daccord in his absence, but he may be stealing the net back with his recent strong performances. The Kraken may ride the hot hand, which is Grubauer at the moment. But, be forewarned as his next start is against the Edmonton Oilers, which is a tough matchup, but may also be a litmus test.

Justus Annunen – Colorado Avalanche (20% owned on Fantrax and 4% owned on Yahoo)
Since taking over the backup role in Colorado in January, Annunen has played five games. He has gone 2-2-1 over that span, with a 2.80 goals against average, a 0.913 Save Percentage, 147 Saves, and one shutout. The shutout was against a sub-par Chicago Blackhawks team last night. While not stellar ratios, he is a strong play most nights spelling Alexandar Georgiev, especially if he get the weaker opponents. He plays for a strong team, and hence has a chance to win every time he takes the net. The Avalanche’s next back-to-back isn’t for over 10 days, but he could get a start again next week against the same Blackhawks he shut out should Colorado want to get Georgiev some rest down the stretch.

Calvin Pickard – Edmonton Oilers (11% owned on Fantrax and 7% owned on Yahoo)
Pickard has struggled a bit in his past three starts, posting a 2-1-0 record, a 3.02 goals against average, a 0.877 save percentage, 64 Saves, and zero shutouts. He does start Sunday though against the Pittsburgh Penguins in the last game of the week. He could be a stash in case you need that last ditch start to put you over the top in a category or two.

Anton Forsberg – Ottawa Senators (24% owned on Fantrax and 11% owned on Yahoo)
Since returning from injury on February 13, Forsberg has started five of the nine games for the Senators. Thus, we appear to have a timeshare with him and Joonas Korpisalo. Forsberg sports a 4-1-0 record, a 2.95 goals against average, a 0.891 save percentage, 106 Saves, and zero shutouts during that time frame. These numbers are skewed due to a bad start last time out against the Washington Capitals where he gave up four goals and was pulled after the first period. He will be in the crease Saturday at the Philadelphia Flyers.
